FACILITY

FACILITY converts the 2nd floor of the former department store into a site of facilitation, turning the space itself and the fabric of the building into an asset for the community. The empty building is put to use through the creation of a Plant Nursery, Printshop, Salvage Yard, Maker space, Labour Bureau and a range of flexible bookable spaces, all as part of an ambitious installation, recycling the building's materials.

The Facility was concieved by Tim Knowles and is realised in collaboration with Jo Lathwood.  Jo Barnfield, Sarah Bradicich & Csilla Biro will head up the Facility Print Workshop. The Facility will also host Celia Turley's The Resilience Reading Circle and Dawn Giles is creating the interior for the meeting room/workspace. A larger open space will host events & workshops by Rising Arts Agency, The Resilience Reading Circle and others.

ENGAGE WITH THE FACILITY:

Do you want to print a community, environmental or social action campaign, need space for a meetings, a workspace or larger event,  have plants or cuttings to donate, or want to help grow plants? Do you want to help create The Facility? Or can you donate; Soil, compost, plants, cuttings, seeds, paper, volunteers, fixings, old tools and garden equipment?

We want you to make use of Facility, to engage with us and get involved!

We will be running regular workshops in The Facility – see the Timetable + Events page.
